Day 1 Cuzco – Sacsayhuaman – Qenko – Puka Pukara – Tambomachay
Qoricancha Museum
The City Tour starts at the archaeological center of Qoricancha where we will be approximately 1 hour visiting the ruins and the temple of Qoricancha.
To access the Qoricancha you must pay S/.20.00.
Sacsayhuaman
The archaeological center of Sacsayhuaman is located only 3 km from Cusco and is the most impressive Inca citadel. To this day, this place is celebrated every June 24th the feast of the sun, known as the "Inti Raymi" where we will be visiting for an average of 1 hour. Then from here we will continue to the archaeological center of Qenko a religious and ceremonial place.
Qenqo Archaeological Complex - Kenko
Qenqo is located approximately 1 kilometer from Sacsayhuaman.
Qenqo was an Inca ceremonial center whose constructions were dedicated to mother earth.
There is a space called an amphitheater where the Incas had to place their dead in trapezoidal niches.
Its main attraction is its underground labyrinths. Moreover, Qenqo in Quechua (language of the Incas) means 'Labyrinth'.
Puka Pukara
Puka Pukara is one of the former Inca Guard posts and rest stops along its main roads. Due to being in an elevated platform it was given the denomination of fortress. It is now a must-see during your stay in the Imperial City.
Tambomachay
The last destination of our tour is the archaeological center of Tambomachay. In this place, the ancient Incas adored water and it is known as the spring of eternal youth. This archaeological center is considered one of the adoratories of the first "ceque" (enormous imaginary lines, that served to organize sanctuaries and huacas in the surroundings of the Antisuyo, departed from the city of Cusco).
