Itinerary

  1. Introduccion

    In this trip that consists of 4 days you will live the experience of traveling the legendary route of the Inca people and that concludes with the arrival at the sacred site of Machu Picchu. During the journey, you can enjoy a unique route where we will discover magical places such as the Inca city of Llactapata, the Pacaymayo valley or the archaeological complexes of Sayacmarca and Phuyupatamarca. The last day we will live a unique moment, access Machu Picchu through the Puerta del Sol, where we will enjoy the magical sunrise over the sacred citadel of the Incas.

  1. Day 1 Cuzco - Wayllabamba

    On the way to Piskacuchu

    We will pick you up by bus at your accommodation at 4:00 am and begin the tour that will take us to Piskacuchu, also known as "km 82", at an altitude of 2,700 meters. From that point we will start our route along the Inca Trail.

     The Upper Urubamba

    We will continue walking along the Urubamba River along the flat terrain until we reach Miskay. There we will ascend to a viewpoint in the highest part of the mountain to see the impressive Inca city of Llactapata.

    We will continue the walk through the valley created by the Kusichaca River, a five-hour stretch where we will enjoy the views, flora and native fauna, until we finally reach the camp at Wayllabamba (3,000m high).

  2. Day 2 Wayllabamba - Picaymayo

    Walking in the Mountains

    We have to get up early, have breakfast and continue to face the toughest section of the route, a steep climb where the landscape changes from sierra to puno (very dry landscape with little vegetation). We will pass through Abra Warmihuañusca (Passage of the Dead Woman - 4,200m high), in this area you can see llamas and domesticated alpacas.

    The fauna of Pacaymayo

    We will cross a cloud forest where many types of typical Andean birds live. Finally we will go down to the Pacaymayo valley (3,600m high) where we will camp.

  3. Day 3 Picaymayo - Wiñaywayna

    Mountain Ruins

    From Pacaymayo we will go up to the second step of Abra Runkurakay, which is also an archaeological complex at 3,970 meters above sea level.

    City of Clouds

    We will go down to Yanacocha and enter the cloud forest to reach the beautiful archaeological complex of Sayacmarca (3,624m). We will continue the route through an Inca tunnel until we reach the archaeological complex Phuyupatamarca, which means “city above the clouds”, since it is at the highest point of the mountain.

    Inca Agriculture

    We will continue the walk along the long descending stone steps until we reach Wiñaywayna, where there is an impressive Inca complex where they were engaged in agriculture, where we will camp for the night.

  4. Day 4 Wiñaywayna - Machu Picchu - Cuzco

    The Lost City

    We will have to get up early to walk 1hr along a cobbled route built by the Incas that connects directly with Machu Picchu. We will access the site through the Puerta del Sol, known as Inti Punku, and we will live one of the most magical moments of the tour: observe the sunrise over The sacred citadel of the Incas.

    Then we will do a 2hrs tour with an expert guide who will explain all the details of this amazing place. Finally we will have free time to enjoy on our own and we can visit places like the Temple of the Moon or the impressive Inca Bridge.

    Landscapes by train

    Around 13:00 pm we will take the bus to Aguas Calientes, where we will have free time to have lunch, after lunch we will have time to visit the town of hot waters and then take the train back to the city of Cuzco.
